Let's Race

Online registration is now open for the 2008 Power of
DC events. You can register here.

May 31 EVents including the AutoCross, ScooterCross, Range Rally (time permitting) and Show-n-Shine are free. The event is from 9 to 5, location to be determined.

On Sunday June 1 the event will be at the Mason-Dixon Dragway and runs from 10:30 am till 5. For the drag race entry fees are $25.00 per tech card (racing vehicle) and $5.00 per person. Kids under 12 are free.

Although a NEDRA membership is not necessary to drag race, if you want to break a NEDRA record and and want the record officially recognized a NEDRA membership is necessary. The cost is $35.00 and you can register at our Power of DC tent.

Also at our tent, the Electric Vehicle Association of Washington DC will have commemorative Power of DC T-shirts for sale again this year for $20 and some cool refreshments and snacks. Please be sure to pick up a Power of DC program with the raffle ticket inside, and turn it in at the tent.

After registration each racer will need to have their car inspected by one of the Mason-Dixon officials. Inspections will take place at the staging area near the pits. Each vehicle will be assigned a number, "E10" for example. For any NEDRA records set we will be classifying the vechicles according to the following class categories. Racing will be taking place during Test and Tune Day so we will be sharing the track with the gassers. We will be lining up on the right side of the staging area. The gassers line up in rows of two on the left. The track officials will be alternating between the EVs and the gassers.

Race as many times as you like. We will have generators set up to charge vehicles between runs.

Racing concludes between at 5:00 pm, followed by the awards ceremony and our post race get together at Ledos in Hagerstown.
